Alan Morrell

Non Executive Director

Alan Morrell brings diverse experience from roles in the oil and gas industry, travel and trade diplomacy. He has worked in the UK and Middle East and spent several years in Asia, including 10 years in China. Roles have been in both the private sector and government with senior diplomatic posts in various parts of China (including Minister-Counsellor (Commercial) at the Australian Embassy in Beijing for 6 years), plus the Philippines and Pakistan. He has advised extensively with ASX200 companies and has been focused on the renewable energy industry for over 10 years.

Craig Brakey

Non Executive Director

Craig Brakey has significant experience in project delivery, commercial management and organisational leadership. He has contributed to a range of large-scale initiatives, providing strategic oversight and practical solutions that balance economic, environmental and community outcomes. His expertise helps guide the responsible development of renewable energy projects across Tasmania.

Alan Bradford offers extensive experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and corporate governance. His background includes working with organisations to manage complex projects, build lasting partnerships and support sustainable economic growth. He is committed to ensuring renewable energy projects deliver positive outcomes for both communities and the environment.

Stephen Casey

Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director

Stephen Casey is a highly experienced Tasmanian executive with more than 30 years’ experience leading major infrastructure, industrial and transformational projects across Australia and internationally.

Prior to joining West Coast Renewable Energy, Stephen served as Chief Executive Officer of Incat and previously held senior executive roles with TasPorts and BHP, leading large-scale investment, infrastructure and growth initiatives.

He brings deep expertise in project development, stakeholder engagement, governance and organisational leadership, with a strong commitment to supporting Tasmania’s economic growth, energy security and renewable energy future

Chantel Hodgson

 Project Director

Chantel Hodgson is an experienced professional with expertise in project coordination, stakeholder engagement and organisational management. She works closely with project teams, consultants and community stakeholders to support the successful delivery of major renewable energy initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on transparency and collaboration.

Matthew Bechly

Technical Director

Matthew has a PhD in wind energy and is passionate about renewable energy, with involvement in the wind industry for over 30 years covering wind and solar resourcing, Independent Engineering Services and Due Diligence for owners and lenders, turbine installation and commissioning inspections, construction monitoring, SCADA data analysis and Power Performance Testing. Matthew was previously CTO of Symphony, CEO of ART group and spent over 17 years at DNV (formerly Garrad Hassan). Matthew worked on the Graville Harbour wind farm inception, resourcing and design. He has worked on a wide range of wind energy projects in Australasia, Asia, Europe and North America.

Liz Youd

Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Liz Youd has extensive experience supporting large infrastructure and development projects through effective administration, project coordination and stakeholder communication. She is committed to ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while fostering positive relationships with communities, industry partners and key stakeholders throughout every stage of development.
